Priapus Shot® Q & A

How does it work?*

The Priapus Shot® uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat men with Erectile Dysfunction, Peyronie’s Disease, to get modest penis enlargement and overall improvement in Sexual Function.  It’s a painless, nonsurgical procedure.  The P-Shot® begins with numbing the penis and then a simple blood draw.  Then, using a proprietary technique, PRP is extracted from the blood and injected into the shaft and into the head of the penis.  The PRP promotes the growth of new tissue, nerves, and stimulates new blood flow with new blood vessels – not from simple dilation of the existing blood vessels [neovascularization].  There is no recovery time and the results are almost immediate in some men.  Full results appear in 2-3 months.

*Results can vary from person to person and no procedure works for all people.

What are the possible benefits of the Priapus Shot®?

The Priapus Shot® can help you have better erections for up to 18 months or longer, although the procedure can be repeated sooner if desired to enhance the effects of the treatment.  Benefits of the P-Shot include:

  • Firmer, longer-lasting erections
  • Increased circulation within the penis for increased sensitivity and pleasure.
  • Larger girth and length
  • Making other therapies work better (if you still need Viagra or Cialis, then it will work better for you).
  • Actual growth of new tissue by stimulation of stem cells; the changes are not from something foreign being in the body but from the body actually rejuvenating and growing.
  • Treating Peyronie’s Disease, a painful penile curvature that prevents you from having sex or makes it difficult to get or maintain an erection, can often lead to dramatic improvement with a straighter and firmer erection.

Will the P-Shot® Hurt?

There is little to no pain involved in the P-Shot®.  Prior to the procedure, a strong topical anesthetic cream is applied to the penis.  Very small needles are used to inject the PRP.

 Are there any side effects?

There are minimal to no side effects with the P-Shot®.  Bruising is the most common.  Since it’s your own tissue being injected back into you, there are no allergic or harmful drug reactions.  The Priapus Shot® procedure is non-invasive and doesn’t carry the heart-health risks that many traditional erectile dysfunction treatments do.

What should I expect after the P-Shot®?

There is no downtime; you’re able to go back to work, engage in normal physical activity or even enjoy sexual relations on the day of the procedure.  Smokers may get less results.  Best results occur in men that regularly use a penis pump afterwards to improve blood flow and encourage regeneration of blood vessels and nerves.  Results will vary based on the underlying pathology, tissue integrity and the natural aging process of the patient.
